Plagiarism

Self-plagiarism is the redundant reuse of your own work, “use another’s production without crediting the sources,” or “present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.” The JSIP also considers “self-plagiarism” as a form of plagiarism. An example of self-plagiarism would be when an author borrows from his or her own previously published work without the proper citation within the newly submitted manuscript. We provide iThenticate software to our editor and reviewers as a part of our manuscript submission system.

Digital Archiving
Innovative Publication provides long-term digital preservation through CLOCKSS Archive activities which is a primary partnership.

CLOCKSS is a collaborative project between 14 of the leading publishers and 34 institutional libraries to provide a ‘dark archive’ to ensure the long-term survivability of (ultimately all) web-based scholarly material. It uses the LOCKS technology to archive everything from the participating publishers.

Ahead of Print Policy
Articles published online under the “Ahead of Print” model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Innovative Publication has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedure for making corrections to the scientific record.

Open Access (OA) Publication and Creative Commons Licensing
JSIP is an Open Access (OA) journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms. More info

Open Access (OA) provides a sustainable funding model for scientific communications while ensuring the widest possible access to research. Open access makes research available to new audiences, readers without the funds or institutional support to cover an expensive subscription. Open Access allows readers to use articles and data in new ways, including practices like meta-analysis and text mining, which reveal trends in science that would not be obvious at the level of individual articles.
